Nadine Levratto

I am a research director at CNRS and the head of EconomiX, a joint research unit between CNRS and the University of Paris Nanterre. I also teach at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, the University of Paris Nanterre, SciencesPo Rennes, and participate in training at SciencesPo Paris and Regional Institutes of Labor.

My research primarily focuses on industry and its transformations, business trajectories (creation, growth, internationalization), territorial disparities, and local public policies and their evaluation. My papers are mainly published in regional economics journals such as Annals of Regional Science, Regional Studies, Revue d’Economie Régionale et Urbaine, or industrial economics journals like Small Business Economics, Revue d’Economie Industrielle, as well as in several chapters of collective works in both French and English.

I am also the author or editor of several books on businesses and industry and their relations with territorial development, including: L’étonnante disparité des territoires industriels – Comprendre la performance et le déclin, Les écosystèmes entrepreneuriaux, rencontre entre entreprises et territoire (English translation: Entrepreneurial Ecosystems), and The Eco-tech Paradigm: Environment as a Basis for a New Techno-Economic Paradigm.

I have also participated in numerous academic conferences and talks aimed at a broader audience, even the general public, to share my analyses and recommendations on industry, business trajectories, and public policies supporting economic activity. I also collaborate with various national and international organizations (OECD, OIT, European Commission) to contribute to disseminating research and formulating fairer and more effective public policies.
